Your backups probably won't save you

"We have backups" is the most dangerous phrase in IT.

Because having backups and having recoverable backups are entirely different things.

In our assessments, we find that 70% of companies with "backup solutions" couldn't actually recover from a major event.

The gaps are predictable. Backups run but aren't verified. Critical systems get missed. Recovery processes aren't tested. Retention periods are insufficient. Often, backups face the same threats as production systems.

Real backup strategies aren't about technology. They're about process.

You need regular recovery testing. Air-gapped copies protect you. Immutable snapshots prevent tampering. Documented recovery procedures ensure success.

The difference only becomes visible when it's too late.

When was the last time you tested a full recovery?
