One of my favorite things to lead with in a prospect call is telling people that after 15 years of business, I still have my very first client. It’s impressive, especially considering my company’s growth and the struggles that have beseeched us over a decade and a half.

I was offered the chance to reflect on those moments when I was approached by Jennifer Bardot, another entrepreneur that finds these stories of struggle and triumph so inspiring that she collected them in an anthology appropriately titled GRIT.

I feel blessed to be considered among the other high quality entrepreneurs that share their moments of GRIT. Although not every situation is the same, what makes these entrepreneurs successful is their determination and consistency to push through the discomfort and doubt. They all had to have faith.

Stories are inspiring and stories help us imagine that we aren’t alone. Despite the appearances that others project, we don’t have it all figured out. I think this book can bring other entrepreneurs comfort and community, especially when it seems the walls are crashing down.
